Eclipse Juno - slow....

With the current Eclipse Release 4.2 I am running in the currently discussed performance issue (https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=385272)

For now the best solution for me is to delete the workbench.xmi file.

  1. Navigate into your workspace sub folder .metadata/.plugins/.org.eclipse.e4.workbench
  2. Remove or rename the file workbench.xmi. 
  3. Restart the Eclipse IDE
This works for me. After a while you need to remove the workbench.xmi again.

This work for me too, thanks! Just a little correction: the sub-folder ".org.eclipse.e4.workbench" is actually "org.eclipse.e4.workbench" (whitout the dot).
